The general consensus from our (all male) Focus group was that our second idea, while un-doable, was the best, that we shouldn't have any female characters, and that they would probably only see idea number two in a cinema (probably because the protagonist we described was male).
While we respected these opinions, we did not agree, and thus from this decided to go with our third idea, as our focus group appeard to also think that this was do-able to an extent, and it got a good enough reaction.
